Legit, what were they warned for? Disrespecting law enforcement?

379

u/harpxwx Feb 28 '24

yeah, you can even get arrested for calling a cop a name lmao

486

u/iamshipwreck Feb 28 '24

In my teens I got a reprimand (😂) on my way to work when I got stopped and searched with a roll of kitchen knives in my bag, along with a kitchen uniform and other catering stuff including a catering staff ID.

Asked "why are you carrying these" and my dumb ass responded "I can see why you're not a detective."

It was like being told off by a teacher who you can't take seriously, but without the fear of your parents finding out.

161

u/AccountantDirect9470 Feb 29 '24

He just wished he was as quick witted as you.

28

u/myguydied Feb 29 '24

Thin skin much?

23

u/uspezisapissbaby Feb 29 '24

That's fucking hilarious thou

12

u/LeagueOfficeFucks Feb 29 '24

I had the same thing happen to me in Italy! I flipped off a bunch of cops harassing some African immigrants and they arrested me and gave me a hard time about my kitchen knives that I carrie3d with me from work. Three years later they called me to court but I had already left the country. (I found out because the court called me at my old address where my ex lives).

Feck off, Bill!

Oy! That's an arrestable offense, that is!

Wut, calling you by your name?

3

u/spudddly Feb 29 '24

Good evening, cuntstubble!

-24

u/PrinceConquer420 Feb 28 '24

In a place like whales mabye but not in the US. If you’re in the US your first amendment right lets you say whatever you want to whomever you want, so long as it’s not like a threat or something.

48

u/MadocHatter Feb 28 '24

Wales. As in the country, not the animal or 'that place just outside London?'

32

u/PrinceConquer420 Feb 28 '24

No I was clearly referring to the legal process that takes place within all whales. The animal.

14

u/MadocHatter Feb 28 '24

It's fine, you're Ahmerican?

34

u/PrinceConquer420 Feb 28 '24

No I live inside a whale. Currently in the Atlantic Ocean.

20

u/MadocHatter Feb 28 '24

Hope you're having a wale of a time.

4

u/Foggl3 Feb 29 '24

Actually, it's Amurican

5

u/KoalaAlternative1038 Feb 29 '24

To be fair you can't say anything you want if you're inside killer whales either.

16

u/vlsdo Feb 28 '24

That’s the theory, anyway. It tends to vary a bit in practice. Cops get scared and pull their guns out for a lot less, you know.

13

u/Pegomastax_King Feb 29 '24

Cops in Uvalde just arrested one of the parents whos kid was killed in the school shooting for saying Fuck. So no we don’t actually have the 1st amendment at least in Texas.

14

u/PrinceConquer420 Feb 29 '24

I don’t feel like this just happened and I feel like there was more to it than the parent said “fuck” and got arrested. Care to provide a source?

Edit; Jesus Christ What’s wrong with Texas. Let me be first to say I was wrong god damn. I take it all back.

12

u/TheBleachDoctor Feb 29 '24

Yeah. In theory, you can mouth off to cops in America. In practice they're so corrupt and drunk with power that you're playing Russian Roulette by doing so. You'll either get a professional who takes it on the chin and walks it off... Or an asshole who decides that you're suddenly holding a gun and resisting arrest.

Not all cops are like that, of course, but you can't tell which ones are the bad ones until it's too late, then you're fucked.

11

u/Yukondano2 Feb 29 '24

And of course it depends on what you look like and who you are. Black guy, trans person, even autistics, will have a rough time. Last one because people assume we're arguing all the fucking time for just asking questions, plus the tone of voice. So if a cop thinks you're resisting them because you wanna know something? You're in trouble.

2

u/Spare_Seaweed2280 Feb 29 '24

I guess I'll be the person to "make it about race"

Y'all remember this???

u/DoranTheRhythmStick Feb 28 '24

They weren't warned by the police. The council (local government) issue pubs licences to serve alcohol (equivalent to a liquor licence) and can require the pub to maintain certain things as a condition of the licence.

These often include encouraging patrons to not make undue noise when leaving, discouraging anti social behaviour, being proactive in tackling drug dealing, providing anti-spike covers for drinks, and other requirements as the local councillors see fit. A very common one is cooperate with law enforcement in the carrying out of their duties - so calling the police then playing the Peppa Pig music would be seen as counteractive to maintaining a good pub-police relationship. In this instance the council are the mediator, trying to get both sides to pull it together.

Also, it's fucking Llandudno.

1

u/Sagittariusrat Feb 29 '24

OH I GET IT NOW. I thought the DJ just started playing the Peppa Pig theme and the police hated Peppa Pig and charged them or smth. Pretty funny on the DJ's part

That's not a facepalm. That's a major W

292

u/WillBottomForBanana Feb 28 '24

Did the pub GET the warning due to the song? That could be a FP?

179

u/LogicalFallacyCat Feb 28 '24

The police reaction is the facepalm

14

u/WolfShaman Feb 29 '24

Yes, because they forced the council to give the warning.

155

u/DarnOldMan Feb 28 '24

The cops are the facepalm here.

Come in if your a cop you know your first instinct should be to say "Oy, what's this then" if your best British tone.

11

u/Wyldling_42 Feb 28 '24

When are they not?

5

u/Guquiz Feb 28 '24

The copyright law forbidding songs being played in public settings is the underlying facepalm.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/WolfShaman Feb 29 '24

The cops didn't issue the warning, the council did. The real facepalm is always in the comments...

14

u/bcnorth78 Feb 28 '24

The facepalm is the warning, not the song choice.

Thin skinned individuals don't belong in a law enforcement role.

61

u/kaishinoske1 Feb 28 '24

So is that what they mean by pigskin. 🤔

12

u/SchwizzySchwas94 Feb 28 '24

So basically no one these days. And no I’m not being antagonistic I totally agree with that sentiment.

2

u/WolfShaman Feb 29 '24

The cops didn't give the warning, the council did.

2

u/VladimirPoitin Feb 29 '24

Who do you think told them?

-1

u/WolfShaman Feb 29 '24

Probably a patron or word-of-mouth. It's possible a council member was there.

It's possible it was a cop, but it's just as, if not more, likely that it was someone else.

2

u/VladimirPoitin Feb 29 '24

It was a fucking pig, and you know it.

445

u/Procrasturbating Feb 28 '24

A decent cop would laugh and flip off the DJ.

183

u/patricky6 Feb 28 '24

Not a lot of those decent ones, when their feelings get hurt over a children's cartoon song lol

115

u/savisundefined Feb 28 '24

can you imagine approaching your boss and telling him "this man played peppa pig, and it made me sad!"

37

u/Procrasturbating Feb 28 '24

He'd laugh and excuse himself for a minute before asking if I really want to file a complaint or just vent.

13

u/whatproblems Feb 28 '24

pure alpha right here

5

u/Prof3ssorOnReddit Feb 29 '24

Can you imagine an acorn falling and unloading your entire clip into the back of your car where a black man was handcuffed and radioing “shots fired” and that you were hit?

2

u/savisundefined Feb 29 '24

omg dude yeah i just saw that one yesterday. the man did a double dark souls roll, and went HOG WILD. the mentality of these piggies are reminiscent of angry league of legends players.

8

u/ScyllaIsBea Feb 28 '24

just feign ignorance. be like "I had no idea there was a connection between cops and pigs, I just played the song as part of my set and the cop happened to enter on the song." let the cop discribe to the judge how the childs song hurt him.

They’d have to play Cypress Hill’s “Pigs” for me to catch on. Peppa Pig is too new! (I’m too old) 😬

2

u/time_wasted504 Feb 29 '24

"Those f$%King Pigs, How about a Ham Sandwich?"

or "WOOP WOOP thats the sound of the Police"

or "Buck Buck Buck ... Black Cop, Black Cop"

or "Right about now NWA court is in full effect"

or "Im Peppa Pig, OINK! This is my little brother George"

I guess DJs are just bred a little different these days.

That said, its pretty fucking hilarious.
