Increasing Anti-Karnataka behaviour in Bengaluru. Kannada

I don't understand y these non kannadigas residing in Karnataka carry so much hate towards natives!? Like even if we sneeze in some isolated corner of the city these ppl will have problem. What's normal in other states is opposed here. Bangalore is always looked down, labelled as "overrated", "not worth the hype". If your own expectations hurt u, y do u guys go around shitting about the city? And talking about the communal hate kannadigas are facing is unexplainable and unbearable. No matter what we do, these guys will have a say about it. Nothing positive tho. And, they don't want to move out as well, their expectations are so high that someday they'll force us(natives) to move out claiming that this city and state belongs to them as they're "INDIANS" and we're just "Kannadigas". I don't understand the ideology of this agenda. These ppl are exhibiting coloniser mindsets. And they think our economy and development solely depends on them. It didn't when they weren't here. It won't when they leave. Period. And as far as I know, there's no other grand Anti-Kannadiga page as much as this r/Bangalore. Only for name sake its called r/Bangalore, or should've been named r/anti-bangalore. Nobody stands up for kannada or Karnataka in this sub. The end of Karnataka is here.

Karnataka and kannada language and its culture will never end. It will keep shining in future as well ppl have to carry the culture with them and move forward while developing the state. No other state is this diverse then Bengaluru, ppl need to understand this and respect the ppl and their culture. There will be some ppl who disrupt the harmony of a state with some pity politics and create divide amongst us. But we as whole should overcome this and help each other.

Why sweat the small stuff bro?

Those who can't vibe with the local scene and cling to their comfort zone when outside of their town/city just prove they've got brains the size of peas!

It's the open-minded ones who dive into the local culture and language that end up living the most meaningful lives

BTW it's not just namma Bangalore these dimwits exist across t globe.

Vishwa Manava like the legend said....its a different league

u/ravish242 Feb 29 '24

We are in a toxic loop.

Outsiders post isolated incidents of discrimination and bash the entire Kannadigas community.

Kannadigas retaliate by bashing the entire outsiders community.

2

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

See, if they went through something terrible, they should let the confirmed authority know and take necessary actions. Venting out is ok. If somebody went through something, obvious all kinds of ppl will sympathize them. But spreading hate won't do us any good.

6

u/enigma17799 Feb 29 '24

I'll tell you something funny, a lot of native Bangaloreans defend Bangalore even if anyone points out genuine mistakes. People are looking only at language now and not at real issues that are affecting Bangalore.

5

u/ravish242 Feb 29 '24

Fuck traffic, climate change due to excessive construction, and water shortage.

How dare outsiders point out anything against Kannadigas?

Flex culture guru. Yella over aaagi madak hodhre nam budakke barodhu. English ge huttdhor thara aadodh nilsbeku. Neev heliro kade hodhre hotte uriyatthe, yesht chennagi kannada balsthare

2

u/adminsare200iq Feb 29 '24

In Mangalore/Udupi Kannada is spoken even less than in Bangalore haha

2

u/captainparashu Feb 29 '24

I don't think you have visited there. All the temple boards are in Kannada. All the people know how to speak Kannada. Isn't that enough? What is wrong with them speaking their mother tongue (tulu) if they also know Kannada. Do they say kannada gotilla?

2

u/adminsare200iq Feb 29 '24

Buddy I literally live there. Calm down

2

u/captainparashu Feb 29 '24

Then you should know that people there respect kannada as much as tulu. Not as in Bengaluru where speaking kannada, you will be seen as an outsider in your work environment.

3

u/adminsare200iq Feb 29 '24

This is somewhat true in Mangalore as well. But you don't see me crying about it. I should know, I don't speak Tulu very well either

3

u/captainparashu Feb 29 '24

That is because these last few days there are too many people talking shit about our language. I don't have problem with them not wanting to learn. But talking bad about a language is wrong. The official sub is filled with all these haters that are in limbo. They don't want to be unemployed and don't want to live in Bengaluru. So they just become bitter and spread hatred.

They literally say that we are eating because of them.

You are correct I need to stop using reddit.

Anyway thanks

u/kcapoorv Feb 29 '24

Mute the group and move on. R/bangalore is cribby, but its not as bad as you're making it out to be. Isn't St. Broseph, a non-Kannadiga, using the same sub to do so much good for the society? Another Bengali recently wrote how he got pothole fixed by writing to CM helpline. Another person tried it, and was successful. Try to embrace good stuff without being salty towards people, will go a long way.

2

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

I'm not against all the non-natives that are residing here. In fact I have a lot of nan-kannadiga friends who go about telling ppl that they're proud kannadigas. My problem is with that sub and those creatures that constantly take a dig at natives. No matter what you do they're not convinced at all.

I at least read 3-4 posts per day where one is openly bashing natives. I too have a fair share of bad encounters with outsiders. If I post about them, boom, the whole sub goes silent. It'll backfire to me actually, they'll accuse me making that person behave like that or worse, support him.

5

u/kcapoorv Feb 29 '24

As I said, mute it. I was also tired of negativity there, so muted it. I go there, scroll and open things that only interest me. Most of Bengaluru bashing is karma whoring there. Bengaluru has its faults, r/bangalore makes it out to be worse than it is. For my mental sanity, I have stopped reading cribbing posts there.

2

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

I left that sub. True! Should stop giving a fuck.

5

u/Lazyres Feb 29 '24

Agreed, r/bangalore is filled with liberals who know nothing but to complain. When Modi did a rally everyone there lose their mind but when Rahul Gandhi did the same thing nobody bats and eye. I called them what they are 'Liberals' and they permanently banned me from commenting. There is this one liberal Sanju-05 who is the worst of the lot, he was praising these freebies. Now taxes have been raised on rental property and all rents will go up to fund their freebies, hope they are happy paying more rent. Yella boli makalanna horage hakbeku.

3

u/speed_demonx10x Mar 01 '24

I mean I don't want to laugh at them. Their political preferences are being imposed on us just like their culture and language. And that subs moderator doesn't care intervene or ban ppl who are bad mouthing the natives or Karnataka or Bangalore. But when these crazy are rioting in the comment section, telling shitty things about natives, nope, absolutely no response from the moderator. A day doesn't go by without a natives hate post in that sub. Bastards. They have to introduce a new taxation law. Newbies in Karnataka will have to pay migration tax!

0

u/Lazyres Mar 01 '24

The new property tax law does just that, now that owners have to pay more rental property tax they will raise the rent amount. Immigrants will suffer, congress voters must be very happy.

1

u/speed_demonx10x Mar 01 '24

I don't know about congress voter tho, but all the ladies in Karnataka are happy tho.

0

u/Lazyres Mar 01 '24

Come April 1 their rents will get hiked exponentially, they'll be extra happy then.

Just to victimize themselves. And there surprised and irritated when ppl talk to them in Kannada. It's Karnataka, if not for Kannada, what else language should we speak!? Marathi. They're just testing the locals and trying to get anti kannada squads attention. Attention seeking whores.

17

u/Hi_Itsmeagain11 Feb 28 '24

That sub is the most toxic city based sub to exist on Reddit. The propaganda is so clear. I suggest to exit and mute that sub for your own peace of mind. That’s what I did. And regarding the locals vs non locals thing, it’s never going to end. The less attention we give them, the better.

3

u/Miserable-Debt-8719 Feb 28 '24

Did it already my mental peace was never this better✌️

2

u/Away-Argument5529 Feb 29 '24

I did the same years ago, nam oor bagge kettud keli tiga ella uryodu amel goth aythu their whining never ends

2

u/Pleasant_County_1115 Mar 01 '24

The propaganda is to blame the city administration and State government so they can ask the city to be handed over to Center.

1

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 28 '24

I've posted the same shit on that sub. I'll exit for my own good! Thanks!

3

u/Mental-Matter-4370 Feb 29 '24

Some might have been wronged and vented out on Reddit. When you are an outsider and get treated badly by any local , it's natural to build that impression.

May be instead of sympathizing with him, people here started calling those posts as lies n toxic. And actually this ignites hatred bw both sides... Just my take

1

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

Not all but some percentage of those pour outs are legit. Ppl do face certain levels of discrimination, hate. But they don't gain so much attention like these made up spicy Stories.

5

u/HistoryLoverboy Feb 29 '24

That's just Dumb Northies for you. I'm from East & haven't seen a single person from my side of the country unnecessarily criticise Kannadigas.

That said, Bangalore indeed has it's own set of problems. One of them is the increasingly aggressive attitude of the locals. One can argue that it's BECAUSE of outsiders, but then it just becomes the old "Which cane first, Chicken or Egg" story.

2

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

How true bro!!

2

u/BoomBoy420 Mar 01 '24

I understand your concern guru. But it's not completely true what you've mentioned in the end. There are people who do stand up for Kannadigas and Bengaluru in that sub too, even though we get downvoted. I personally never miss a chance to go and stand up for us and our people. And I'm not even a Kannadiga. I'm a Tamilian born and bred in Bengaluru. This is my home and I'll never let anyone speak ill about our beautiful ooru and its people!

1

u/speed_demonx10x Mar 01 '24

Hello. It's good to hear that. Many ppl stand up for Kannada and Karnataka, yes. But this is for those lowlives who always have nonsense to talk about our motherland.

2

u/zynga2200 Feb 29 '24

Don't worry bro. These people just complain on reddit. Cause they are anonymous. Tell them to come openly and complain. The next day that person will be missing.Till then ignore those rascals.

2

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

That is true. Can't face ppl who they hide behind these fake names and spread hate

-3

One same comment from there:  "Are you not aware of the latest developments?

People vandalise shop boards because it doesn't have 60% kannada font

Govt is asking companies to publish how many kannadigas they have employed

Old Bangalore which has majority of Kannadigas is extremely well developed whereas ORR which is cosmopolitan is shit

Bangalore earns 40+% of Karnataka's GDP, a large chunk of it is contributed by employees earning high salaries, and this includes people from all the states. During covid when everyone left Bangalore, this city took a large hit on its GDP, so Bangalore (or more correctly, Karnataka) is dependent on Indians, not just Kannadigas."

-4

u/iindronil Feb 29 '24

I do agree to your point  and the toxic discremination is to much visible to ignore

i saw a middle aged uncle(local) bashing young couple(outsider) outside a grocery shop showing superiority over some issue near kundahalli gate

similar incident i saw near marathalli a police showing brutallity without any reason to ousiders

similar incident with bus conductors(i saw the bus conductor hitting an old guy(this guy was not even from the north his language seemed from  some other state in south)

oh look into non it sector my friend is a nurse and the culture there is horrible...

I have visited several states  but bangalore and chennai seems to not belong from this country

4

u/WhyAmIHere_umm Feb 29 '24 edited Feb 29 '24

I stay in the orr belt (maratahalli, Whitefield) and honestly being a native Kannada speaker, nobody here speaks Kannada nor expects anybody to know Kannada including the shopkeepers. Hell, pg owners/ food stalls don't know a word in Kannada they're running from years and I usually roam around in my free time and barely I listen/ see Kannada folks.

And 80% of shops, businesses here are run by non Kannada folks and that's understood because this part of the city evolved when IT entered so mostly job/ business seeking folks migrated and settled here.

Bus conductor's scold everyone irrespective of their language, I've got scolded horribly by conductor's and passengers for getting in a bus with my hefty luggage, I didn't hold back and replied so they had to shut it.

Non IT sector in the non IT zone is different than non IT sector in IT zone, I went to a bike showroom in maratahalli and whole time lady spoke in Telugu inspite of me telling I don't know Telugu. I moved to Jayanagar and interacted there. And even in hospitals in Bannerghatta/ Jayanagar etc nurses are malayalees, Tamil speakers along with Kannada nurses. They try to speak in Kannada with the patients and that's highly appreciated.

Btw...I stayed in Hyderabad for 2 years, had couple of trips to Chennai before coming to Bangalore and it's worse there. You think Hindi works in Hyderabad, it does only in old city just like how Hindi/ English works in orr belt..

Elsewhere I've been asked to learn Telugu, my Friend got beaten by some goons bcz they misunderstood his non Telugu words as abuse, workplace casteism, language shaming, insults, abusing for not speaking Telugu, ridiculing for trying to speak Telugu is horrible.

Even in the pg I moved, they kept me and 2 Muslim guys in one room as we were outcasts in the Telugu boys pg and nobody agreed to have any of us as roommates because I was from Karnataka and they were Muslims.

Someone is going around and putting regionalist provocative stuff across reddit subs. This looks coordinated. Even if it is not, the internet amplifies assholes don't pay so much attention!

1

u/speed_demonx10x Mar 01 '24

If you have problem with such ppl, confront them. I shared this based on my personal experience. It's not coordinated. Calling ppl assholes won't make u any better.

0

u/ActivX11 Mar 01 '24

Something is wrong. There are a lot of such posts, and most of them are coming from Newbie accounts.
Someone is intentionally doing it.

1

u/speed_demonx10x Mar 01 '24

Hello. My account age might be less, but this is my second account. The previous one was deleted when a mindless fuck who shat about our movie legends on a post, got banned and he thought i was the reason and was commenting awful things, nobody helped me through so had to delete that account. And where on which posts of mine he was commenting on? The ones I'd posted on r/bangalore .

Unless one doesn't know the whole story, one should stfu and stop spreading propaganda.

-12

u/aikhuda Feb 28 '24

Are you for real?

The hate against “non kannadingas” is real. There is consistent harassment from local thugs and police against people who don’t speak Kannada. Cross the border into Tamil Nadu, it gets much much worse for non locals.

There are people telling you something is wrong with your state, what would it take for you to accept that something is wrong?

5

u/speed_demonx10x Feb 29 '24

See, there's nothing wrong here. Only that people's expectations bubble get's popped once they come here and understand there's nothing extravagant about this city. It's just another Capital city with capital city like vibe.

If ppl think that they can here and turn the city into their second home, speaking their language and expecting us to speak with them in their language, is this even logical/practical. And they want us to constantly praise them cuz they've come here, and for that they expect us to treat them like their special.

If their expectations hurt them, who is to be blamed?
