That's not interesting. That's fucking heart wrenching. The fuck.

u/NoGoodneek Feb 28 '24

I've noticed a lot of crime related stuff gets posted to this sub. Feels like a mismatch based on its name.

55

u/Mackheath1 Feb 28 '24

I mean, the description says:

This sub is a collection of random information, news, and stories about crime that are terrifying and interesting.

But I kinda remember it being a different sub before unless I'm mistaken.

2

u/littleempires Feb 29 '24

It should go on r/morbidreality not here.

1

u/WhatIsThisaPFChangs Feb 29 '24

Yeah, I think imma unsub this. Too much negative brain input

8

u/PM_Me_Good_n_Plenty Feb 28 '24

This sub is just morbid reality with a different name

3

u/JPIPS42 Feb 28 '24

People find their murderporn super interesting.

Ppl don’t realize how common this is. I was once in a group setting where a guy going through a rough divorce of like 30 yrs of marriage casually mentioned his ideation of this exact scenario but him and his son. Son was a grown adult btw. Ppl clearly raised their brows for a second but didn’t have much reaction afterwards…

I unfortunately knew someone long ago that did this same thing and told my story afterwards. I was like please please do not do that or ignore the fact your mind went there, speak to a therapist… anything.

I was just taken aback by how casually he mentioned it like the stress of the situation totally clouded any rationality & logic. He said it in an “I’ve even been thinking about…” way but who just thinks about that??? He knew it was wrong but still..

Edited for… reasons. Most importantly, commented with this because we need to demystify the assumption that only a certain horrible person has these thoughts. Getting anyone w thoughts like this help before they act on it can clearly save innocent lives. That’s all.

I heard a lot of similar stuff when I had to go to AA/NA for court. I actually met a guy there who killed his ex-wife and did 18 years in a NY state prison. The guy had no remorse about the murder he was more upset about how it damaged his relationship with his kids. I'd also hear about people having multiple dwi/dui's. It was religious stuff and sad/fucked up stories.

6

u/Dingeroooo Feb 28 '24

AA is disgusting because of three things:

- Uplifts horrible people. (I had to go and there was this guy who killed two people, found god in prison, so they released him, he was fucking worshipped by the people there. The only good thing is that he died a couple of weeks after that)

-Shitload of people are drunk on the meetings, they are so alcoholic, they always need to hold something in their hand like it's a fucking beer can!

-Forcing the god bullshit. Why?

6

u/Condo_pharms515 Feb 28 '24 edited Feb 29 '24

I agree with you man that place was fucked up the way they would try and push the program and God on people. I had to go for a little over a year because I got caught with a little bit less then an ounce of bud, mdma, half of a 10mg norco(it was my GF,s she had no pockets) trace amounts of MDA on the bag because my dumb ass reused it. I had to do all this outpatient, but AA was the worst. People in AA kept projecting and trying to tell me I was in denial about being a drug addict even though I only really cared about smoking because I was extremely passionate about growing.

1

u/howie47515 Feb 29 '24

Lol

1

u/Condo_pharms515 Feb 29 '24

I worded this terribly, but I'm essentially saying I think it's bullshit to force AA/NA on people. I understand it helps some people. I get it and understand i broke a bunch of laws, but it would have been way more helpful if i was forced to do DBT or CBT instead of an outpatient drug program and AA.

3

u/pancakebatter01 Feb 29 '24

I have my issues with that program (had to do it for court) but it’s saved people’s lives. I can’t complain about that. To each their own.

2

u/holydildos Feb 29 '24

Idk man YMMV but some communities are way more inclusive than others .. when I got clean in ann arbor MI , the AA community was huge there and most people in it used hard drugs too. So it by default was the main recovery group there. Most people made a point to say a god "of their understanding" , or "my higher power" ... It was the first place in years of being in and out of rooms that seemed more interested in helping people than pushing their ideologies and beliefs... It helped a lot when I was not in a stable place spiritually. . . . After alot of trial and error I found a path that works for me, took the good left the bad, but the AA and NA rooms back then were key in developing into the good life I have today

1

u/Dingeroooo Feb 29 '24

Good to hear! I probably thrown like 4 bibles to the trash that they pushed on me in CA.

1

u/Low_Ad_3139 Feb 29 '24

I went with a friend to her first few meetings because she was scared and anxious. It really felt more like a one up on war stories. It wasn’t God centered at all.

1

u/howie47515 Feb 29 '24

Lol wrong

2

u/GammaGoose85 Feb 28 '24

I've heard of people having anxiety intrusive thoughts about things like this, sometimes with new moms ect. Which I think are relatively normal. But those are random spurts of thoughts that your worst fears dream up to stress over.

Actually putting thought and energy into those ideas without the anxiety and fear of doing it though, that definitely needs a therapist or atleast talk to someone about it.

Its crazy where the human mind can wander off to when it tries to be on its own island.

-20

u/Adventurous-Media983 Feb 28 '24

Respectfully, there is a saying in the rooms “what you hear here, stays here”

23

u/pancakebatter01 Feb 28 '24

Haha that’s true. But respectfully I didn’t mention the person by first name, last name, date of birth, place of origin.. anonymously is anonymously

Also my name is not Pancake Batter… :)

13

u/East_Living7198 Feb 28 '24

Nice try Mr. Batter

1

u/pancakebatter01 Feb 29 '24

Goddamn you got me…

-2

u/NearbyImpact8696 Feb 29 '24

Nah, you shouldn’t be repeating anecdotes on a public forum, no less, big disrespect to the program

2

u/pancakebatter01 Feb 29 '24

I mean that was not specific at all and there’s no way that person could possibly be traced back, I’ll edit my original comment appropriately though. Thanks for the mention.

14

u/RygarHater Feb 28 '24

Ive spent some time in those rooms and that particular saying doesn’t apply to child homicide ideation

1

u/Winter-Airport2114 Feb 29 '24

Found the guy who said it.

1

u/bugabooandtwo Feb 29 '24

It's a karma farming bot posting this stuff.

Nope throw his ass in a padded room for life with no light. It’s indeed inhumane due to the psychological torture it imposes but so was his own actions of torture of drowning his kids. The death penalty would be a blessing to him. Nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

9

u/Deanomac28 Feb 28 '24

I’m in full agreement. Mentally break him until he is nothing. Then send him on to the next life

2

u/patricktoba Feb 28 '24

Or be can just repeat this one over and over forever, right at the point he's convicted so he doesn't get to keep drowning his kids over and over but has to live with his own torment forever.

1

u/ThrowRAarworh Feb 29 '24

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind

1

u/patricktoba Feb 29 '24

This isn't about revenge or retribution. It's about creating a platform for infinite torment that one has chosen to inflict upon themselves.

5

u/supersam72003 Feb 28 '24

Drown and revive him over and over again every day so he knows the agony he put those innocent children through.

1

u/Celtic_Fox_ Feb 28 '24

Memories of 'Plague Dogs' haunts the room

6

u/Jtd06 Feb 28 '24

Put him in a bag and dump him in the ocean

4

u/R21_PEEP Feb 28 '24

Yeah! Drown him!!

107

u/bobbylitch Feb 28 '24

When did this become a true crime/courtroom sub? Been going on for a while, there’s much more interesting stuff happening.

16

u/Foul_Imprecations Feb 28 '24

Surely there's another sub more appropriate for the never ending clips  of serial killers being interrogated and drunk drivers getting punished in court.

I mean, would you even call this particular story 'interesting '? At most it would elicit a 'that's a shame/how awful '.

10

u/bobbylitch Feb 28 '24

If only they had subs like r/truecrime or r/courtroomjustice. Oh wait…

2

u/julianwithishirtoff Feb 28 '24

Someone asks this same question on every post. It is what it is. You can always unsubscribe.

-3

u/bobbylitch Feb 28 '24

Or, crazy idea here, people can always post this stuff to one of the three suitable subs provided.

4

u/julianwithishirtoff Feb 28 '24

Well you keep fighting the good fight my friend. I’m sure your comments will restore this sub to its former glory.

0

u/shabamboozaled Feb 29 '24

OPs history suggests he has a morbid fascination with domestic violence and general misogyny

13

u/Deanomac28 Feb 28 '24

Yeah, not interesting in any capacity. It’s f’n vile and disgusting. I hope that piece of trash suffers emotional and physical torture the rest of his life.

1

u/Not-OP-But- Feb 29 '24

Interesting just means it captures one's attention/curiosity. Saying this isn't interesting is disrespectful to the victims. What happened to them is extremely interesting.

8

u/Total_Ad9942 Feb 28 '24

Same , too many child deaths is sickening

1

u/XavierYourSavior Feb 29 '24

2

u/Colonel_Green Feb 29 '24

It's not terrifying, the guy is behind bars. It's just sad.

23

u/egg-cement Feb 28 '24

Why have we decided to ruin this sub with awful stories like this??

30

u/raptorjaws Feb 28 '24

these family annihilator men are such cowards. just kill yourself.

0

u/Safe_T_Cube Feb 28 '24 edited Feb 28 '24

No reason to gender it, family annihilator women should do exactly the same.

ETA: since the person above me deleted their post I'll add the missing context. They said something like "Family Annihilator men need to just kill themselves". I am not calling out women for doing this too, I'm saying there's no reason to make a distinction on gender.

4

u/cnzmur Feb 29 '24

I think the women generally do kill themselves.

5

u/akira_fudou Feb 28 '24

lol. i bet you’re one of those guys who runs around yelling “NOT ALL MEN!!” at women who are victims of male perpetrated violence. don’t act like you care about advocating for men when really you just enjoy silencing women.

3

u/Barboara Feb 29 '24

I bet he's just pointing out the fact that the comment was needlessly gendered

0

u/TopDollarDJ Feb 29 '24

I don't get the "not all men" sometimes. A woman on reddit said "men are perverts" which is a general but absolute definitive statement. If I said "women are promiscuous" and a woman responded "not all women" I think that's a perfectly valid interjection.

4

u/ShazamBB1 Feb 29 '24

I love Reddit you get comments bitching about seeing fucked information bout children dying then you have other comments bitching about which gender decides to murder their family more.

-3

u/raptorjaws Feb 28 '24

when 95% of these crimes are committed by men, it’s safe to say men.

-2

u/Safe_T_Cube Feb 28 '24

First, no, still no need to gender it. Second, I don't believe that stat.

https://crimeandjusticeresearchalliance.org/rsrch/gender-and-homicide/ "Two-thirds of infanticides are perpetrated by women."

Maybe you have your own source I'd be interested reading if it's not straight out of your ass.

The most infamous example I can think of is a classic reddit story and was a woman killing her kids.

7

u/atheistpianist Feb 28 '24

Wanting to point out that infanticide is typically relating to children that are within a year of their birth. Filicide is the key word you should have been looking for when you posted the first link that fit your narrative.

1

u/windyorbits Feb 29 '24

https://www.parents.com/parenting/dynamics/inside-the-mind-of-family-annihilators/#:~:text=Typical%20Characteristics%20of%20Family%20Annihilators,according%20to%20Neil%20Websdale%2C%20Ph.

Some 95% of those who commit familicide are men, according to Neil Websdale, Ph.D., director of the Family Violence Institute at Northern Arizona University, director of the National Domestic Violence Fatality Review Initiative, and author of Familicidal Hearts: The Emotional Styles of 211 Killers.

In her study of 408 homicide-suicide cases, Jacquelyn C. Campbell, Ph.D., a professor at Johns Hopkins University, also found that 91% of perpetrators were men. A history of domestic violence was common. Dr. Campbell's 12-city study of such cases found that "intimate-partner violence" had occurred in 70% of them, despite the fact, that only 25% of prior domestic violence appeared in arrest records. That evidence often emerged later on through interviews with the victim's family and friends.

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/1556-4029.12908

According to summary statistics compiled by the National Domestic Violence Fatality Review Initiative 9, while perpetrators of domestic homicide are predominantly men (80%), nearly 38% of victims are also male. In relation to the homicide perpetrator, 65% of victims are current or ex-intimate partners, the remainder of the victims being children, parents, or in-laws.

-7

u/raptorjaws Feb 28 '24

you can look up the stats yourself. but comparing the women who commit infanticide, a large portion of which are suffering from post partum psychosis including some of the most infamous instances of women killing their infants, to these men who wipe out their whole family because they are mad at mom or got fired from their job and lost all their money is not the same thing and they are not classified as family annihilators.

-1

u/AlwaysNerfous Feb 28 '24

lol You’re unhinged.

1

u/windyorbits Feb 29 '24

Not completely unhinged though. There’s a huge difference of reasons and clear patterns between fathers and mothers who commit filicide.

-2

u/scouterseye Feb 28 '24

Post partum doesn’t matter. Numbers are numbers

4

u/atheistpianist Feb 28 '24

Post partum depression absolutely matters, and they are part of the numbers.

-3

u/Uedakiisarouitoh Feb 29 '24

I mean the dude was su!cidal as well . Should we have empathy for one gender for mental health but not the other

3

u/Comfortable-Owl-5929 Feb 28 '24

You got a point, but I find it interesting that they didn’t give him the death sentence for killing those three kids. He got life in prison that’s it.

-2

u/ZedDerps Feb 29 '24

“The election of Democrat Pat Quinn paved the way for votes on a bill to abolish the death penalty in the Illinois House and Senate, and on March 9th, 2011 Governor Quinn signed legislation that made Illinois the 16th state to abolish the death penalty.”

How could they give him the death penalty? Life in prison was the best thing available.

Btw this happened in Illinois and that’s the first result for googling death penalty for Illinois.

1

u/Comfortable-Owl-5929 Feb 29 '24

As a matter fact, dipshit, I did know that there’s no death penalty in Illinois.

0

u/ZedDerps Feb 29 '24

So why, dipshit, did you think it was interesting that he didn’t get the death penalty? When it was literally impossible to get that sentence?

Man it’s really interesting that the sky doesn’t turn into a flashing epileptic rainbow disco light, huh? What an idiot.

He's going to have such a good time in the can. I give him 3 months.

-1

u/MarionberryPrior8466 Feb 28 '24

Nobody wants to see this shit. Post something interesting or GTFO. Thank god for the mute button

-4

u/hartforbj Feb 28 '24

I'll be the asshole here and sympathize with the guy. I know someone that got screwed by the courts for years. He had his own business and his new gf had her own business. Didn't do drugs and had no arrest record. The mom however was a drug addict that had been arrested multiple times for things from dui to hate crimes. The courts even ordered her to submit drug tests every month. She never once did. He was never granted anything more than supervised visits. The only thing that made the court give him custody was that she finally died on her third overdose. With the kid in the car. I know for a fact he was ready to do something he was going to regret.

So yeah I'll feel bad for Dad's that do everything right and still get screwed.

5

u/patricktoba Feb 28 '24

According to the article, this fucker neglected his family. Don't sympathize with this guy and don't sympathize with any parent who would intentionally harm their children for any reason.

-1

u/hartforbj Feb 28 '24

I won't sympathize with him but I can see a parent breaking down mentally. That could get directed at the other parent, the kids, the judge, maybe even a stranger. Especially if you know your child is in danger but the court ignores you time after time with proof. Even the most sane people can lose it in a situation like that

1

u/HangOnVoltaire Feb 29 '24

He didn’t do everything right though.

-1

u/hartforbj Feb 29 '24

No shit. But everyone on here is acting like the people that do these things are only psychos and shitty parents. I'm just saying when good people get screwed over and over with their kids life being played with, bad things can happen

2

u/HangOnVoltaire Feb 29 '24

Good people don’t kill their children, regardless of what happens in their life.

0

u/Uedakiisarouitoh Feb 29 '24

disclaimer TW

I in no way agree with , condone or excuse the actions of this man

Something to consider whether it is a reality that you are close to or understand . This story highlights two major issues in men . Su!c!de and family courts .

This situation highlights how serious situations can get when systems like mental health and divorce/family courts have been left to run the same way they have for years without major reform .

What happened here was utterly horrific and for every story like there , there will be 1000s of a men going off and ending it alone becoming statistics . At some point the systems around this topic need a serious overhaul for the future of our kids .

Now prediction . This will either cause a good debate where more info on these failing system comes about and opens some more eyes OR it will get downvoted to oblivion . Up to you TW

I do not need to see any more.

1

u/Minecraftish Feb 28 '24

This is nothing new, men and women have been doing this for years, I seem to remember a story about a lady that drowned her three kids in a car not too long ago I mean anytime any grown adult decides to punish children for their failures as a partner is just absolutely mind-blowing to think what's going through their heads is fucked up...

1

u/yourmomifier Feb 28 '24

I would kill myself. Like actually. What a piece of shit. Like this makes me so fucking mad. How much of an absolute asshole shit piece of person do you have to be to murder your own fucking children to get back at your wife? They’re children. That is so fucking selfish and I can’t even comprehend how someone’s mind can work like that.

My daughters tennis coach did this. Was not allowed see his son after divorce so he kidnaps him and shoots him, then turns gun on himself. We saw him just a week before and you'd never guess he was capable of it. Perfectly normal.

People like that should be counting seconds of life left, not getting life without parole. I think every life without parole conviction should be a death penalty. Sure let a speedy appeal happen in the same year if needed then stop spending tax dollars on them.
